Us contractors are our own breed of person. If you treat a GOOD contractor right, we WILL treat you right. We want your business again...

1. It is a good idea to do all your worrying about a contractor before you hire them...Research, check referrals. What is their reputation. Do you trust them? If you don't trust them, don't let them back in your house.

2. Trust your contractor. If you do your research, there shouldn't be a reason to doubt them. A GOOD contractor will correct their mistakes.

3. Remember, PERFECTION is unobtainable. QUALITY is not. The closer you expect perfection...The more you should expect to pay, and usually the more you will pay.

4. Tell a contractor anything that is relative to the task he is doing...AT THE TIME OF THE QUOTE. Don't try to short the contractor by keeping secrets. The more specific you expect the work to be done, the more specifically you should be describing your expectations. AT THE TIME OF THE QUOTE.
A GOOD contractor will charge you only a FAIR price, not the lowest price.

5. A GOOD contractor welcomes questions with the understanding that the more specifically they know what you want or need the more likely they are able to fulfill your expectations.

6. Let the contractor do their job, a GOOD contractor knows their job better than you do.

7. Let a contractor decide the order things need to be done....Especially clean up....It probably will cost you more if you try to tell them when they should be doing things.

8. To give a key or not give a key? If you don't trust the contractor, why are you letting them back in your house? If you "just leave your door open for them", what happens when they need to leave to go get something? Can you afford to stay with the contractor the entire time it takes to finish. If the contractor has a key...They are responsible for your house. If after all this, you are still worried about a contractor after they finish....Change the locks, it doesn't cost that much.

9. When the contractor finishes, always give the contractor an opportunity to correct an error before assuming they do bad work.

10. Tell your contractor if anyone has allergies, AT THE TIME OF THE QUOTE!!!!
Your Best Choice is to call.
