In all of the tools that I have purchased, only two of them I regretted buying the most expensive. One, a utility knife, I still prefer the cheap ones. The other, a framing nail gun. It is so High tech, that it broke down and is very expensive to fix. Only the STRONG can afford to be GENTLE. What styles and colors will not date my project. It has been my experience, that no matter how you choose to decorate, your project will be dated. There are only so many styles of materials available at any given time. My best advice is decorate how you want it to look, and enjoy it while you live there. Just try not to go over the top if you are serious about moving soon. I prefer a smooth drywall finish to a textured. Primarily when it is time to make any kind of repair. It is not how many times you may trip that matters, but how many times do you get back up?
